Data Governance

Pen CS software platforms have been designed and structured to ensure the safety, integrity and security of patient data is compliant with the Privacy Act 1988, Privacy Amendment Act 2012 and the Privacy Regulation 2013.

Pen CS data governance is related to how data is extracted, interpreted and transferred. Pen CS is not a data owner or a data custodian and hence data governance for these roles falls outside the scope of the Pen CS data governance framework.

The Pen CS internal data policies, guidelines and procedures are designed to ensure that all staff, and especially those with delegated authority to make data-related decisions, have clear sources of information to guide them in performing their roles effectively and appropriately. Guidelines include processes to cover the extraction, de-identification, aggregation, security, confidentiality, quality and dissemination of data.
