The Data Linkages project is a pilot project, now in its 4th year, being run by the NSW Ministry of Health in collaboration with Pen CS and select Primary Health Networks. It links data from General Practice with other NSW health-related datasets.
The aims are to:
- Provide information that will increase general practitioners’ understanding of the care delivered to their patient cohort in the acute care setting.
- Determine patterns of general practice attendance in relation to other health service utilisation that will assist in the stratification of patients’ risk of health deterioration.
Linked data sets include:
- Hospital Admissions, Emergency Department Attendances and the mortality data from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
The chief investigator on this project is Ms. Patricia Cornell, Systems Integration Monitoring and Evaluation team, System Information and Analytics Branch, NSW Ministry of Health
